Roger Stone

Status: Departed

“Admit nothing, deny everything, launch counterattack.”

—Roger Stone, on his political philosophy.

2016 Presidential Campaign Chairman
Early 2015 – August 2015

Longtime friend of Donald Trump and the man said to have originally persuaded him to run for the presidency, Roger Stone is a self-described “political trickster” with a long history of reveling in controversy. An ardent supporter of President Nixon since he was 19, Stone began his political career amidst the greatest political scandal of its time – the Watergate scandal.

Stone is (proudly) responsible for having spawned and perpetuated dozens of outrageous and utterly unfounded conspiracy theories, including assertions that the Clinton family has murdered “as many as 83 people” and that President George H.W. Bush tried to assassinate President Reagan, and has even called for the execution of his political rivals on multiple occasions.

Although convicted on all seven counts (including lying to federal investigators and attempting to block witness testimony) and sentenced to 40-months in jail, Roger Stone was never forced to serve a day in jail thanks to President Trump commuting his entire sentence.
